Parsnip - Guernsey

Parsnip Seed - Guernsey Variety. This heritage variety dates back to mid 1800s France, famous for its broad shoulders and shallower roots. It gives good yields of white root with a sweet flavour. The variety has kept its popularity due to the roasting qualities it has, along with being a healthy addition to any dish. 

 

Sow March - May thinly 1.5cm deep in full or partial sun in stone free compost. Thin to 6 inches apart when large enough. Do not transplant seedlings, sow where to harvest. Harvest June- October when foilage begins to die.
